Safeguarding

At St Gwladys, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We are fully committed to creating a safe, supportive environment where every child feels protected, valued, and empowered to thrive. Our staff are trained to recognise and respond to any concerns, and we work closely with families and external agencies to ensure the wellbeing of all children. Safeguarding is not just a policy—it’s a culture that guides our everyday actions and decisions.

As members of staff, it is our legal duty to report any safeguarding concerns that we may have through the appropriate channels immediately.  If we have any safeguarding concerns, we report them immediately to our Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSPs).  These are:

Designated Safeguarding Lead:

Kathryn Evans (Headteacher)

Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads:

Sarah Halpin (Acting Deputy Headteacher)

Sian Langford (Acting Deputy Headteacher)

Sarah Morgan (Acting Co-ALNCo)

Cerian Peploe (Acting Co-ALNCo)

Sophie Evans (ALNCo Maternity Leave)

In the event of there being a safeguarding concern about a member of staff,  concerns are to be reported immediately to the Headteacher, Mrs. Kathryn Evans.

In the event of there being a safeguarding concern about the Headteacher, concerns are to be reported to the Chair of Governors, Mr. David Collins.
