Roots of Empathy

Roots of Empathy has proved to be very successful since its introduction in St. Gwladys in 2016/17. The programme aims to reduce aggression, increase sharing, caring and inclusion whilst promoting resilience, wellbeing and positive mental health in our children. Delivered by a number of trained teaching assistants in our school, this involves a mother with her baby who, at the start of the programme, must be between 4 - 5 months old, coming into a class of children over the course of several months. In this way, the children learn to develop empathy and respect for others.
